I grew up eating this. In New Mexico Green Chili is plentiful and always on hand. Last week when I made the Bacon & Sweet Potato soup I really wanted to have this bread with it.
1 loaf frech bread, sliced in half lengthwise
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 can green chili or 2-3 chilis chopped
1/2 c. mayonnaise
2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded
Parmesan cheese
Parsley
Combine butter and garlic powder, spread over halved bread. Spread chopped chilis over the butter. Combine mayonnaise and the cheddar cheese and spread over the chili. Sprinkle loaves with parmesan cheese and parsley flakes. Broil in the oven until bubbly, just watch it. Slice and serve.

Oh man! I am definitely making this, even thought I know I could eat a whole loaf myself. Glad you liked the brownie pie. I like it so much I think I'm going to make it for Christmas.
