Corn Chowder

I got this recipe from a lady at church down in Alamosa. We have had this soup often so I'm not sure why I'm just now posting it. Oh, well. This is good stuff - anything that starts with 1/2 pound of bacon has to be good.

1/2 lb. bacon
1 medium onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
2 tbsp. flour
4 c. milk
2 can creamed corn
3 medium potatoes, cooked and chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Fry bacon and remove, dice; drain all but 3 tablespoons of bacon fat. Add celery and onion, cook until tender. Blend in flour on low heat; add milk and boil 1 minutes. Add corn, salt, pepper, potatoes and bacon. Stir well and serve hot. May be served in bread bowls.
